About Johnson City
Johnson City is a city and the county seat of Blanco County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,656 at the 2010 census. Founded in 1879 by James P. Johnson, it was named for early settler Sam E. Johnson, Sr. Johnson City is part of the Texas-German belt region. == History == Johnson City was founded by James P. Johnson who donated a 320-acre (130 ha) site on the Pedernales River for the founding of the town in 1879.
